The History and Future of Microsoft Operating Systems

This site was developed to introduce the many operating systems that were developed by Microsoft Corporation, as well as what the company has planned for release in late 2001. Some general information about each of the operating systems is provided, along with any interesting information about their development or how and why they came to be. Not each of them is listed separately - those with similar features are listed together, such as MS-DOS versions 5.0, 6.0, 6.2, 6.21, and 6.22 are all covered under the heading "MS-DOS 5.0 - 6.x." Some of the more insignificant version updates have been omitted.
